2008 YIR

Yeah, so I sort of just stopped writing.

There wasn't any one thing, but a combination: it's boring, it's one-way, and I have other things I want to do.

I “tweet” using twitter. These are short, under 140 character, bursts of either stupidity or insight, or infrequently very inside-baseball quips which I only expect a few people to get.

I did write here, occasionally:

Plus a couple of I'm sorry I haven't posted lately posts which I don't think warrant linking here.

I'm just kind of tired…of sharing. This is very one way and while I don't exactly thrive on interpersonal contact, some feedback helps. Email, comments, tweets, whatever.

So, my only promise for 2009 is that I'll continue posting pictures of the dogs on a periodic basis. If I have something of true import to the world at large I might post it here, but may well just tweet it.

I'm not even going to review 2008 much: I traveled a bit, my luggage got lost, sort-of vacationed in Provincetown, one of my grandmothers died in Chicago, I spent Thanksgiving in London.

For 2009 I plan to: travel less often, take more pictures of dogs, and lose weight.

If you'd like to know more about what's going on, feel free to write or tweet or call.

FYI: Site Maintenance

I’m going to change a couple of settings with this site including the feedburner setup. All of this should be behind–the–scenes and have no impact on my non–posting to the site on an irregular basis. If you do not see a brief posting here saying “ All Clear ” you might check back into the site as something may have gone horrifically wrong, or I forgot to update.

Site Maintenance: All Clear

All clear.

If by chance you use FeedBurner to distribute feeds and also the "MyBrand" service to use your own domain name CNAMEd to a Feedburner.com domain name, there's one catch to the migration to Google Accounts and hosting: your setup will be borked.

What you need to do is, after you've migrated, go into the mybrand control panel and delete each of your domains, hit "save", then add them back in.

This is obscurely documented in this post hidden behind a door marked "do not click upon fear of death by tiger": Older Known Issues & Workarounds.
