Apologies to feed readers who suddenly got a stream of twitter updates from my site feed. I was, how do I describe this, screwing around with a merged feed and I didn't like the results, let alone the thousands of you who wrote in to complain¹.

The tweets have been eviscerated from the stream, if I do go for a merged stream it will be a separate feed entirely.

One lesson: much as I like Google Reader, its habit of using the last modified date of the feed as the date / time to display with each individual item is really annoying and became quite clear with the twitter-storm I unleashed. Bloglines, which has fallen into the trash can for me, does display the dates/times from the individual entries (and correctly sorted everything by date/time too!).

Sorry. I'll ask the dogs to fur me in penance.
