Back home

Arrived home last night around 7:00 EDT. Too late to pickup Frisket from Monstermutt. I'll walk over and retrieve the retriever midday (based on a note from Alex, I'll have to buy a couple of bags of treats to bribe her to come home).

Frisket apparently enjoyed Alex's dog-sitting so much that she hid his phone charger before he left last week.

The weather here in Brooklyn is oddly what we expected when we landed in Ireland on the 1st. Cool, somewhat humid.

While I was away I didn't change the "location" field for the first time in a number of trips (it's a litle database I have that should be driven by dripldu but whoever's behind that site hasn't finished the work yet, so I maintain it by hand and it shows where I allegedly am). Someone with far too much time on their hands wrote in to note that the default location Armillary Sphere wasn't precisely on the Armillary Sphere on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade when you zoomed in all the way on Google Maps satellite imagery. I have corrected the error (it was "off" by I'm guessing two feet. I suspect it was correct until they updated the satellite imagery).

To welcome me home, it appears that someone in the immediate area of the house has decided to tear up the street with jackhammers. Ah, céad mille fáilte.
