Today’s big accomplishment: discovering that the dryer had become just ever-so-slightly disconnected from its vent duct. This was not very difficult detective work, the yards of lint I pulled out from around the enclosure kind of gave away that there was a problem. Apparently the dryer was installed in such a way that, assuming it didn’t ever move, the vent duct would sit just on the edge of the opening, there was no compression ring or flexible duct connecting it, it was just resting against the dryer. I didn’t fix it yet, need to run to the hardware store tomorrow to find some 5 inch flexible ducting (though, we have plenty of duct tape).
