Arrrgh. Some jerk has sent out spam using my email address as the "From:" address. The most immediate effect is that I'm getting 100s of error messages returned back.

MIBII

So we saw Men in Black II tonight...it wasn't too bad, but IMHO wasn't as good as the original either. Perhaps it was just mental phantom imagery, but the digital editing of the skyline towards the end almost made the void more obvious than had they just left the buildings in place.

Now That Ringing Cellphone May Be a Telemarketer's Call

Ugh. In Now That Ringing Cellphone May Be a Telemarketer's Call, the NY Times reports that telemarketers are now intentionally calling cell phone numbers. I've received a couple of telemarketing calls on my cellphone and always stop them in their tracks with "this is my personal cell phone, goodbye" (more or less). If the US mobile phone system were like the European or Australian systems, this would be less likely to occur since the caller pays at all times. In the US, the mobile phone user pays for the call, no matter who's calling.

Scientists Create a Live Polio Virus

This Scientists Create a Live Polio Virus can't be good. I remember both the polio injection (it hurt that much) and the weird sugar cube thing. I assume people still get vaccinated against it (but I also assumed the same about smallpox and that was apparently in error).

Spent the evening with John & Laura Mesjak. Had wanted to introduce Frisket to Alice but John and I agreed that the two cats probably would not appreciate Frisket's playful behaviour.
